DIPF and RUB Issue Press Release on the Launch of ICILS 2028 Germany
On April 9, 2026, the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education and Ruhr University Bochum published a joint press release announcing the launch of ICILS 2028 Germany. The release announces the official start of Germany’s fourth participation in the International Computer and Information Literacy Study.
The press release provides information on the new scientific leadership team consisting of Prof. Dr. Frank Goldhammer (DIPF) and Prof. Dr. Carolin Hahnel (Ruhr University Bochum), the study’s objectives, and the new content features of ICILS 2028. For the first time, the survey will include, among other things, competencies related to artificial intelligence and aspects of digital well-being. The study’s results will be published in 2029.
